TextTidy is a product of Typex. This explains what TextTidy collects and why.

Text you proofread

When you press the TextTidy shortcut, the selected text is sent over an encrypted connection to our service, which passes it to Google Gemini to produce the rewrite and streams the answer back to you. We do not store your text or the rewrite. We use Google's paid API, under which Google does not use the content to improve its products.

What we keep

• Your email address, to sign you in and link your subscription.
• The devices you have signed in (a name such as “MacBook Air”, the platform, and when it was last used).
• Usage counts — requests and tokens per day — to apply fair-use limits, plus a 30-day log of request details (time, model, size, duration). Never the text.
• Subscription status from Stripe or Apple. Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach us.

On your device

Your settings, custom commands and rewrite history stay on your computer.

Your choices

You can download everything we hold about you at any time — in the app (Settings → Download my data…) or on your account page. You can sign devices out and cancel your subscription there too. To delete your account and its data, contact us.
